Poly Hopper Spreader

To use the swing-away chute, simply pull a retaining pin and unplug the harness to swing the assembly to the right (passenger side). This provides clear access to the drive-train for easy maintenance, lets you dump excess material at the end of a shift, and allows you to fill walk-behind spreaders, buckets, or bins directly on the job site.

Comparing polyethylene to stainless steel isn’t a compromise—both are rugged, high-performance choices that come down to your personal workflow, material preferences, and budget. While poly is lightweight, completely corrosion-resistant, and enables advanced hopper geometries for better material flow, stainless steel leaves extra space along the truck bed sides to store shovels and chains. TEMPEST™ poly hoppers add extra value with a standard fitted lid to keep your material protected from the elements.

Our high-capacity poly models are built to span the full width of your truck bed, which means there’s little side storage for shovels but not a lot of extra space like there typically is with stainless steel models. Although they are engineered with a space-saving stand-on-end feature—allowing you to simply detach the chute and store the unit vertically in your shop when the season ends.

The updated poly tub features several major enhancements compared to the original POLY-CASTER, including optimized slanted angles that improve material flow and ensure even unloads into the auger option. It also includes a standard, high-quality lid and a new hinge-and-latch system.

The specialized latch design allows for quick access. Simply use a 2×4 or a shovel handle as leverage against the lid to open it safely and easily from the ground.
