Trip-Edge Protection

Trip protection is a full blade trip whereas the trip-edge is just the edge, protecting your snowplow and vehicle from jarring damage. A full-trip blades tilts forward and loses some of the snow load when hitting obstacles, trip-edge snowplows only pivot the bottom cutting edge back, keeping the main moldboard upright to retain most of the snow. Most FISHER^® truck snowplows feature the industry-leading trip-edge design for heavy duty commercial applications. With lower spring tension and a less intense recoil, this forgiving design releases impact energy by lifting the blade rather than snapping back against the truck.

The HS and TRAILBLAZER™ Heavy-Duty Straight Blade and V-Plow are the only FISHER plows with trip blade protection (due to the lightweight design).

The trip-edge design uses extra steel on the back of the blade for unmatched commercial durability and strength. In heavy, wet snow, a full-trip blade can sometimes accidentally trip under the sheer weight of the snow load itself. A trip-edge design prevents this by keeping the main moldboard rigid, so it only trips when striking an actual obstacle.
